Alethea Rodrigues atualmente está cursando Relações Internacionais e já atuou em centros de refugiados no Brasil, Grécia, Haiti e Líbano
Em 2018, segundo dados da Agência da ONU para Refugiados (Acnur), estima-se que mais 65 milhões de pessoas no mundo se encontram em situação de refúgio. A maioria, cerca de 40%, são provenientes da Síria, considerada a zona de conflito armado mais perigosa atualmente. No entanto, o número de trabalhadores e voluntários em campos de refúgio não chega a 10% desse total.
Foi pensando nessa realidade de perseguições, guerras e terrorismo, que a jornalista e estudante do último ano do curso de Relações Internacionais do Centro Universitário Internacional Uninter (Polo Penha – SP), Alethea Rodrigues, 31 anos, passou a trabalhar no Brasil e pelo mundo a fora, desde 2015. Entre seus planos para o futuro está um mestrado em Cooperação Internacional para o Desenvolvimento na Espanha. “Para aprimorar o conhecimento e ter uma atuação mais assertiva da área, acredito ser fundamental estudar as relações políticas, econômicas e sociais entre diferentes países”, completa Alethea, que atualmente está morando na Irlanda.
Além de fazer parte do Instituto de Reintegração do Refugiado Brasil (ADUS) e do Comitê Nacional para os Refugiados (CONARE), ambos localizados na capital paulista, Alethea também colabora com o portal MigraMundo, no qual registra todos os seus projetos e viagens. “O curso de Relações Internacionais me possibilitou mudar de área e trabalhar com crise migratória. Quando iniciei essa jornada, a guerra da Síria estava no auge e choviam imigrantes sírios no Brasil, especialmente em São Paulo”, explica Alethea.
Dia Mundial do Refugiado: ajudar a quem precisa
Após indicação da coordenadora do curso de Relações Internacionais da Uninter, Caroline Cordeiro, Alethea trabalhou em ONGs parceiras no Haiti, nas quais realizou atividades com crianças e colaborou na reestruturação de orfanatos e na construção de uma escola. Atuou em campos de refugiados em Atenas (Grécia), no processo de triagem e distribuição de diversos itens aos assistidos. Já no Líbano (fronteira com a Síria), desenvolveu um projeto com crianças que perderam os pais durante a guerra e realizou pesquisas sobre o assunto para diversas instituições.
O Dia Mundial do Refugiado é celebrado no dia 20 de junho. Para conscientizar os governos e a população mundial para o grave problema que atinge os refugiados, a Organização das Nações Unidas (ONU) instituiu a data em 2000. As regiões no mundo com mais refugiados são o Oriente Médio, o Sudeste Asiático e a África Oriental. Segundo o Parlamento Europeu, os países que mais oferecem proteção aos refugiados são: Suécia, Alemanha, França, Itália e o Reino Unido.
